The 12th CEBS National camp is to be held in Brisbane from the 2nd of January 2002 until the 10th of January 2002.
What is a National camp? A National camp is the coming together of CEBS and leaders from all over Australia to renew faith, meet new friends from CEBS Branches all over Australia and have fun.
The aim of a National camp is to challenge participants physically and spiritually with a wide range of activities and this camp is set to fulfil those goals.
Activities happening at the 12th National camp? Many super activities are being planned including Bush Walking, Abseiling, Mountain Climbing, Water Skiing, Sailing, Canoeing, Orienteering, Archery, Surfing and Team Building. Check this page regularly to find out the latest on planned activities.
Location The camp will be based at CEBS - Brisbane Pointro Campsite which is located on the picturesque Maroon Dam approximately 116km south of Brisbane. The site was a sub-camp for the 6th National Camp held in Queensland in 1977. It has been greatly developed since then. It is situated on the southern shore of Maroon Dam, in Boonah Shire, and is 7.6 hectares in extent. Access is by bitumen road from the town of Boonah right to the entrance to the property. See access map and campsite map for details. Pointro will be the base camp for activities to be held in the surrounding 120 kilometres.
The activities, such as sailing, swimming and water skiing will take place from here. It is also from here that we will visit the Gold Coast (Australia's favourite holiday spot) and take day trip into Brisbane exploring the city and the river. A visit to a Gold Coast Theme park (eg Movie World, Sea World or Dreamworld) is also being planned. A Canopy Walk & Rainforest Hike in beautiful Lamington National Park. Swim and barbecue at Kurrawa Beach, Gold Coast.
Who can come to a National camp? All CEBS who are 10 years and 6 months old or older on the 2nd of January 2002 are eligible to attend.
