Many thanks for having such a great evening with fellow CEBS and Families.
We must make a special effort to get together and talk about the good old past.
Cheers David

I just wanted to say how much we enjoyed the CEBS closure evening. You and
Peter, no doubt with lots of help, did a marvellous job and are to be
congratulated,
even the weather was fine. We were especially pleased to see all the early
attendance books and the old photos, it was a walk down memory lane, and so
fascinating to see young CEBS all grown up.
Thank you for the evening and I hope you find something just as fulfilling to
occupy your Friday nights.
Best wishes from Shirley and Bill.

It went really well. We had over 100 members, ex members, families & friends attend including all the 5 Branch Governors and quite a few from the 50's & 60's. We have the memorabilia display under the hall and bbq in car park behind the hall. (Although the 2 spotlights there weren't working we managed in the dimness.) After that we add speeches and audio visual presentations on the big screen in the hall. I was surprised and humbled to be awarded Life Membership of the branch and Alan & I were presented with shields in appreciation of our work for Chermside CEBS over the years. We sang a few camp songs then the war cries. Fri Craig then got us to say the grace together and blessing as the closure of the branch. The 4 life members then cut an anniversary cake and we had ice-cream cones. Overall a great success and some great memories were shared and renewing old friendships. We have built up and email list to keep in touch and we will be having 2 reunion functions each year.
